The Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market Board of Directors has appointed June Claypool as the organization’s new Executive Director. With her extensive background in community engagement, marketing, fundraising, strategy, and program development, the board feels Claypool is poised to lead the market into a new era of growth and community involvement.

Claypool brings more than two decades of experience in the non-profit sector and higher education to her market leadership role. Recently she served as the Managing Director for Field Arts and Events Hall and held the position of Vice President of Strategy at Peninsula College. Her expertise in strategic planning and community development will undoubtedly benefit the market as it continues to serve as a vital local resource.

The market board of directors is excited about June’s appointment. Board President Silas Crews said, “June brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to strengthen the market’s vendor community and customer experience. We feel very fortunate to have June as Executive Director.”

Claypool currently works part-time for Clallam PUD and is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work closely with the market’s board, staff, vendors, and patrons to advance the organization’s mission to respond to community needs. She sees Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market as the ideal platform for launching new ventures, a valuable hub for locally sourced food, and a lively gathering space for building a strong and connected community.

Speaking on her new role, “The Sequim Farmers and Artisans Market is a vibrant destination at the heart of community life in Sequim,” said Claypool. “I’m excited to support local farmers, producers, and artisans in a thriving marketplace that provides equitable access to healthy, sustainable food. And I’m honored to work with the dedicated board and staff to create an exceptional guest and vendor experience.”
