The Lavender Skep Apiary is a new member of SOAM in 2007. The business began in 1999 after many years of beekeeping as a hobby.
The emphasis of this growing beekeeping business is the promotion of honeybees -- educating the public concerning the life cycle of honeybees and the benefits of honeybees to the community and the surrounding farms. We will provide a connection for people who are interested in becoming beekeepers.
The Lavender Skep is a small apiary with one beekeeper and approximately fifty beehives. The primary placement of the hives in on the many small lavender farms in the Sequim area. Other locations throughout the Dungeness area are sometimes selected for hive locations when conditions merit.
